Past Tense Paulie

It was while languishing in an airport lounge, counting carpet squares to divert the mind, that I concluded my stance on standby ticketing: an economic game of Travel-Chicken with potential purgatorial consequence.

Man says volumes before speaking a word. And Paulie felt thankful for the fact.

To him, the laughter and love alive in the land of beer and cheese was measured not by chapters of pages, but the simplicity of glasses raised high in cheer.
